Yr12Music Festival NSW is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the many stunningly talented teenage musicians who perform for the HSC and IB music subjects. The venue is the prestigious new purpose built performance hall at Sydney Grammar’s College Street campus.
Students from all over the State have competed for 74 performance places by video selection. This will culminate in eight live concerts over two Sundays in July. The entire programme will be open to the public. Places will be given on merit alone. All concerts will be professionally recorded and made available for purchase. Prizes will be awarded to the most deserving, including $5000 for music lessons from a master.
The Festival will feature works by several Australian Composers including Paul Stanhope, Carl Vine, Troy Roberts, Ross Edwards, Lachlan Davidson, Katie Noonan and Sally Whitwell.
Adjudication for live performances will be provided by Mrs Karen Carey, Dr Nicholas Vines and Mr Barry Walmsley.
